Made in West Germany at Ulm, this P38/II carries correct commercial markings: eagle/N nitro proof, Ulm stag-antler proof, and circled-dot inspection/hardness stamps. The left slide is marked "Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do. P38/II Cal. 9mm," and the slide bears a 7/69 proof date. It is an Interarms import, with "INTERARMS ALEXANDRIA, VA" stamped on the pistol.
The pistol is West German nitro proof marked.
The pistol features the classic open-top slide and short-recoil locking-block system, with a loaded-chamber indicator rod visible at the rear of the slide. Controls include a slide-mounted safety/decocker and a heel-type magazine release. It operates in DA/SA with an external hammer and uses fixed sights: a front blade and a square-notch rear.
This full-size P38/II has a 4.9 in barrel and an 8+1 capacity. It wears a blued finish with black checkered plastic grip panels secured by a single screw on each side. A lanyard loop is located at the lower left grip. The slide-release/takedown lever is star-marked, consistent with noted inspection marks from this period.
Included is a Walther hardwood presentation/display case with red-velvet interior and a cartridge display block. The presentation case lid carries the matching serial number to the pistol. Four Walther factory P38 9mm steel magazines are also included, rounding out a complete and display-ready package.
