What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson Model 1500 Deluxe .222 Rem bolt-action rifle with 22 inch barrel
- Scope bases installed
Manufactured in Japan by Howa Machinery for Smith & Wesson, this short-action Model 1500 uses twin front locking lugs and a forged steel receiver for a robust, smooth-running action. The bolt body is jeweled (engine-turned), and the thumb safety allows the bolt to be cycled while on safe.
The 22 inch steel barrel has a sporter profile and a blued finish. The receiver is drilled and tapped, and this Deluxe configuration was produced without factory open sights. Scope bases are already installed. Markings reflect its Japanese manufacture.
The Deluxe-grade walnut stock is finished in high gloss and includes a Monte Carlo comb, cheekpiece, and skip-line checkering for a secure hold. It is accented by white-line spacers, a pistol-grip cap with the S&W medallion, and a hard buttplate. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches, and QD sling swivel studs are fitted.
Feeding is from an internal box magazine with a 5+1 capacity. The hinged floorplate is released by a control at the front of the trigger guard, enabling quick and safe unloading. Overall, this is a clean, well-appointed Deluxe variant from the 1980s that is clearly marked "Made in Japan."
