Manufactured by Walther in Ulm, Germany, this M&P22 is distinct from the later U.S.-made M&P22 Compact. It is marked MADE IN GERMANY and bears German proof cartouches, including the Ulm proof mark and date codes at the ejection port. These markings confirm its German origin and production.
The pistol uses an aluminum-alloy slide finished in matte black with M&P wave-pattern rear serrations for confident manipulation. Its polymer frame incorporates a metal chassis for rigidity, and the grip features the familiar M&P texture with a palm swell for a secure hold.
Operation is blowback with a single-action, internal-hammer-fired system. Controls are set up for versatility, including an ambidextrous manual safety, an ambidextrous slide stop, and a reversible, left-side magazine release button.
Sight regulation is straightforward thanks to a drift-adjustable front blade retained by a screw and a click-adjustable rear sight with windage and elevation adjustments.
