The PT 1911 follows classic 1911 operation with a short-recoil, locked-breech system and a standard barrel bushing paired with a GI-style short recoil spring plug. The full-size, government-length 5-inch barrel and steel slide/frame provide the traditional 1911 feel and handling.
Controls and ergonomics include a left-side thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with a memory pad. The pistol is outfitted with a skeletonized commander-style hammer and a skeletonized, three-hole trigger. Slide manipulation is aided by front and rear diagonal cocking serrations.
Sighting is straightforward with 3-dot iron sights: a dovetailed front blade with a white dot and a square-notch rear with two white dots. The slide is marked "PT 1911 CAL .45 ACP" and the finish is a blued/black tone across the steel slide and frame.
Capacity is 8+1 in .45 ACP, and this example includes three 8-round single-stack magazines with polymer base pads. The serial number is applied to the frame and visible on the barrel hood, and the case label shows a matching serial and factory code 1-191101PBL.
Markings include "FORJAS TAURUS S.A. – MADE IN BRAZIL" and "TAURUS INT. MFG. INC., MIAMI, FL." indicating Brazilian manufacture and U.S. import.
Construction is all steel with a non-railed frame, consistent with a traditional 1911 profile.
