This Custom Target II follows the 1911 Government pattern with a 5-inch barrel and a 7+1 capacity. It uses the short-recoil 1911 operating system and a single-action trigger, delivering the familiar control layout and handling of the platform.
The sighting system is set up for precision: a dovetailed plain front blade pairs with a fully adjustable plain-black rear target sight featuring elevation and windage screws with index marks. This configuration allows fine-tuned zeroing for different loads and distances.
Series II safety features include a grip safety, an extended left-side thumb safety, and a Swartz-type firing pin block. The fire-control components are optimized for target work, with a three-hole, lightened aluminum trigger and a skeletonized Commander-style hammer.
Practical frame and slide details include front and rear cocking serrations for positive manipulation, a flat mainspring housing, and a smooth (uncheckered) front strap. The pistol wears black double-diamond checkered synthetic grip panels secured with hex-head screws. The frame carries the Yonkers, NY, USA roll mark.
