It has been rebarreled with a 24-inch Douglas sporter-contour barrel stamped ".308" over "DOUGLAS" and configured without iron sights. This setup keeps the rifle trim while maintaining the Forester’s balanced handling in .308 Win.
The action is a smooth Sako bolt with a polished body, round knob, and knurled face. Controls include a two-position safety at the right-rear of the bolt shroud and a single-stage, factory adjustable trigger. Feeding is from an internal staggered box magazine with a stated 4+1 capacity, and it uses a hinged steel floorplate with a steel trigger guard.
The walnut stock wears a gloss finish and point-pattern checkering at the fore-end and pistol grip. Accents include a contrasting fore-end tip, white-line spacers, and a Sako-logo buttplate. Sling accommodations are an inletted fixed front sling loop and a rear sling swivel stud. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches.
