Built on a stamped steel receiver with a slant-cut rear and a three-rivet front trunnion, this MAK-90 Sporter reflects the Chinese Norinco pattern and is chambered in 7.62x39. It uses a long-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt, a right-side safety/selector, and a standard paddle-style magazine release. Capacity is noted as 10+1 when used with the included magazines.
The 16.34-inch barrel features an externally threaded muzzle with no device installed. Sighting is via iron sights, with an AK tangent rear sight featuring an elevation slider and an open-ear front post for a straightforward sight picture.
Upgrades include a Choate Tool fixed skeletonized polymer buttstock in black with a 14.5-inch length of pull, along with a black polymer pistol grip and black polymer lower handguard. The upper handguard is an Ultimak M1-B railed gas tube, marked accordingly, offering a durable accessory rail forward of the receiver. The Choate stock is also maker-marked.
