The 20-inch barrel is marked "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7" and uses a 1:7 twist to stabilize a wide range of 5.56 NATO projectiles. The muzzle is threaded, and the rifle employs a rifle-length gas system with ribbed, two-piece polymer handguards retained by a delta ring.
The upper receiver is a flat-top Picatinny design and includes a forward assist, shell deflector, and ejection-port cover. Sighting is classic A2: a pinned front sight base with bayonet lug and sling swivel, paired with a detachable carry handle featuring a drum-adjustable aperture rear sight.
The lower receiver carries the Colt prancing pony and "COLT DEFENSE HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A." rollmarks, along with a CR-prefix serial and a small square/2D code beneath the magazine catch shelf. Stated capacity is 30+1.
