Built on the Mauser platform, this M48 uses a bolt-action system with a large external claw extractor and a 5-round internal box magazine. The receiver is serial-marked "M29089," and the buttstock is stamped "29089," reflecting matching-number markings between the stock and receiver.
The rifle is fitted with iron sights consisting of a hooded front sight and a tangent/leaf rear sight with a graduated scale. The sight setup and Mauser-pattern action details are consistent with the military-style configuration of the M48.
Its full-length hardwood military stock includes an upper handguard and is equipped with two barrel bands and a cleaning rod under the barrel. Additional military features include a bayonet lug, a metal buttplate secured by two screws, and a sling slot/cutout in the buttstock.
Markings are a highlight on this example, including the Yugoslav crest/emblem and "M48" on the receiver ring, plus Cyrillic receiver markings. The bolt handle is additionally stamped "GEORGE W," providing another distinct marking detail on the rifle.
