The TM1C Lightweight variant uses an aluminum alloy receiver to deliver a durable, M1-pattern Thompson carbine with reduced receiver weight. It operates from a closed bolt and feeds from Thompson M1-pattern stick magazines; it is not designed for drum magazines. Capacity is 30+1.
The 16.5-inch steel barrel is smooth and non-finned with a plain muzzle, matching the M1-pattern profile without a Cutts compensator. Right-side ejection and the right-side charging slot follow the traditional M1 layout.
Factory walnut furniture includes a fixed stock, a walnut pistol grip, and a horizontal forearm with a single long grasping groove. Sling swivels are fitted front and rear for practical carry.
Sighting is straightforward and rugged: a blade front sight paired with a fixed battle rear sight protected by ears. The rifle includes a manual safety. Length of pull is approximately 17.25 inches, overall length is about 38 inches, and unloaded weight is approximately 9.0 pounds.
The receiver is marked "AUTO-ORDNANCE CORPORATION, WORCESTER, MA, USA," reflecting its U.S. manufacture.
