The Howdah Hunter is a side-by-side double-barrel muzzleloading pistol with two external hammers and double triggers. It uses a percussion, single-action system and is chambered in 20 gauge with a capacity of two shots. Sight regulation is straightforward with a brass bead front sight and no rear sight.
Its 11.25-inch blued barrels feature ornamental breech banding and a captive under-barrel ramrod with a hinged retainer. The barrel is rollmarked "PEDERSOLI – ITALY /14 CAL. 20 BLACK POWDER ONLY," underscoring the black powder-only configuration for this model.
Construction details include color case-hardened locks, trigger guard/strap, tang, and buttcap, paired with a walnut three-quarter stock. The stock shows fine checkering and oval wedge escutcheons, while the grip is checkered for secure handling.
Factory engraving elevates the presentation, with engraved lockplates featuring scrollwork and animal vignettes. Italian proof marks are present, including a boxed "CM" date code, and the pistol is a faithful reproduction made in Italy by Davide Pedersoli.
This example comes well-outfitted with the factory detachable wooden shoulder stock (uninstalled and bagged in its accessory box), a purpose-made Triple K leather holster, the original Pedersoli box, owner's manual, and a factory media disc.
