Built by Husqvarna during WWII, this m/38 short rifle retains its correct Swedish Mauser features, including stripper-clip guides, the receiver thumb cut-out, and an internal flush 5-round magazine with a hinged floorplate. The receiver ring is marked with the Husqvarna name and a 1943 date, aligning it with wartime production.
The rifle uses the pre-98 Mauser pattern that cocks on closing and is equipped with a Mauser flag safety. The bolt is left in the white and fitted with a straight bolt handle, a configuration typical of the m/38.
Sighting is via a barrel-mounted tangent rear sight with a sliding cursor and a square-post front sight set in a protected base. The muzzle is unthreaded. A bayonet nosecap/lug and a front band sling swivel are present, and an auxiliary cleaning rod is mounted under the muzzle.
The full-length, oil-finished hardwood stock includes finger grooves, a separate top handguard, a brass stock disk, and a steel buttplate. The blued steel receiver and components complement the rifle’s clean presentation, and the 14.0-inch length of pull supports a comfortable shouldering experience.
