The PTR 9CT uses a roller-delayed blowback, closed-bolt action in a proven MP5-pattern format. It features a stamped-steel receiver with cocking tube, a left-side non-reciprocating charging handle, and a selector marked S/F. It is manufactured in Aynor, South Carolina by PTR Industries.
The 8.8 inch barrel is nitride-treated and cut with a 1:10 twist. It offers dual muzzle interfaces: an MP5-spec 3-lug for quick-attach devices and standard 1/2x28 threads for threaded accessories.
Sighting is handled by a hooded front post and a rotary diopter rear drum. A factory-welded 1913/Picatinny top rail provides a solid mounting surface, and the PTR-branded aluminum M-LOK handguard allows for direct attachment of compatible accessories.
Ergonomics include dual magazine releases (paddle and push-button) and a manual safety. The pistol accepts HK MP5-type magazines, and comes configured with a black brace. Four 30-round steel magazines, a Savior FDE soft case, and a sling are included.
