Built during 1977–1979, this third-generation Universal M1 Carbine retains the classic 18-inch barrel and M1 profile while using Universal’s Gen 3 proprietary internal design. It is chambered in .30 Carbine and uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system with a steel receiver and barrel for durability.
The rifle is configured for optics with a left-side receiver mount and a Tasco 4x32 scope secured in two rings. No fixed front sight is present, making the scope the primary sighting system.
Practical upgrades include a clamp-on multi-port muzzle brake/compensator to help tame muzzle movement, a ventilated metal upper handguard/heat shield, and a ventilated rubber recoil pad with white-line spacers. An OD-green web sling is installed on the front barrel band sling swivel for carry.
The hardwood stock features a semi-pistol-grip profile and a 14.5-inch length of pull. Capacity is listed at 30+1, and this rifle ships with one 30-round detachable box magazine. As a Gen 3 Universal, its proprietary internals differ from U.S. GI-pattern M1 Carbines and are not generally interchangeable.
