The Safari Express configuration features a controlled-round-feed action with an external claw extractor and a three-position wing safety. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases. A one-piece steel hinged floorplate and a jeweled bolt body with a checkered knob round out the classic Model 70 details. Factory magazine capacity is 3+1 in .375 H&H.
The rifle wears express iron sights: a hooded ramp bead front and an adjustable express-style rear leaf with a white reference line. The 24 inch barrel is unthreaded and finished in a matte blued treatment consistent with the action and bottom metal.
