The SUB-2000 Gen 2 features a folding configuration that reduces the carbine to roughly 16.25 x 7 in for storage. A rear latch on the stock secures the folded barrel. The unloaded weight is approximately 4.25 lb, and the polymer frame/receiver and stock keep the platform light and manageable.
The 16.25 in steel barrel is threaded 1/2x28, ready for common 9mm muzzle devices. The polymer forend provides a full-length top Picatinny rail and M-LOK side slots. Iron sights include a protected, adjustable front post and an adjustable rear aperture.
This model uses a straight blowback action and a push-bolt safety behind the trigger. Capacity is 17+1 with compatible magazines. The 3-position stock offers an adjustable length of pull from 13.25 to 14.5 in, and an accessory rail segment is integrated into the stock.
The Multi-Mag system uses an interchangeable magazine catch and is set up here for S&W M&P double-stack 9mm magazines. Takes S&W M&P Series 17rd+ Mags. One 17-round S&W M&P-pattern steel magazine is included. Markings include "MADE IN USA" and "KEL TEC CNC INC COCOA, FL."
