The M&P9 M2.0 Compact Optics-Ready configuration pairs a striker-fired system with a flat-faced trigger and ambidextrous controls. It features an ambidextrous thumb safety, a trigger safety, and an ambidextrous slide stop. The slide is marked "CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED."
The 4.0 in stainless steel barrel wears Smith & Wesson’s Armornite (nitrided) finish, matched to a black Armornite slide with front and rear cocking serrations. The slide is optic cut and ships with a cover plate, and the factory mounting plate kit is included for pairing with compatible pistol optics. Tall steel white-dot sights provide a 3-dot sight picture and an approximate 6.4 in sight radius.
The black polymer frame uses the aggressive M2.0 texture and accepts interchangeable palmswell backstraps to tune fit. An extended embedded steel chassis and the 18-degree grip angle are part of the M2.0 design. A Picatinny-style accessory rail supports common weapon lights and accessories.
Standard capacity is 15+1 in 9mm, and the pistol accepts full-size M&P9 17-round magazines. This example includes two compact 15-round magazines plus two full-size 17-round magazines with grip sleeves, offering immediate versatility for carry or range use.
