The 590 platform is a pump-action 12 gauge with an aluminum alloy receiver and steel, 14-inch cylinder-bore barrel. This configuration offers a 5+1 stated capacity and is chambered for 2 3/4" and 3" shells. The receiver is rollmarked "590 12 GA" and "MOSSBERG - NORTH HAVEN, CT - U.S.A." and the shotgun wears an even, matte black finish throughout.
Sight setup is straightforward with a low, non-bead front post and no rear sight. The tubular magazine features a knurled clean-out end cap. A ribbed synthetic fore-end with an attached strap offers secure purchase during cycling.
Upgrades include a Monstrum Picatinny receiver rail that is installed and ready for accessories. For on-gun ammunition management, a Tac-Star 6-shell side-saddle is mounted on the receiver and an additional forward 6-shell clamp-on carrier is installed at the receiver/magazine tube area.
The stock is an ATI telescoping buttstock with a recoil pad and pistol-grip adapter, finished in matte black polymer to match the gun. This setup adds adaptability while keeping the overall package compact and cohesive.
