The V1 configuration provides a traditional DA/SA trigger with a left-side control lever that functions as both manual safety and decocker. The ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release is easy to access from either side of the trigger guard.
This example is German-made and marked with German nitro proof stamps and an AB date code indicating 2001 production. It also carries the Heckler & Koch, Inc., Sterling, VA import mark. The grip panels are molded with HK USP markings and early "pat. pend." text.
The 3.78-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel uses polygonal rifling. Sights are fixed 3-dot steel, with the rear sight drift-adjustable for windage to fine-tune point of impact.
The compact polymer-frame build keeps weight down while maintaining control, aided by textured grip surfaces. The dust cover incorporates the proprietary HK USP accessory rail specific to this series.
Chambered in .45 ACP, the pistol has a 10+1 capacity and comes with three 10-round steel magazines. Finish is black on both the slide and frame for a clean, uniform look.
