Built by Miroku in Japan, this Competition Carbine High Grade reproduces the classic 1873 pattern with a color case hardened steel receiver, a blued 20 inch round barrel, and a full-length tubular magazine rated at 10+1 (factory spec). The carbine configuration includes two barrel bands and a saddle ring. Made in Japan.
The action uses the traditional toggle-link mechanism with a top-mounted sliding dust cover. A brass cartridge lifter is marked "Cal. 357/38," and the rifle is set up with iron sights: a hooded front bead and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear with a stepped elevator.
Stocked in walnut, it has a straight-grip profile, a carbine-style walnut fore-end, and a steel carbine buttplate. The twist rate is 1:18.75, and the length of pull measures 13.0 inches, offering a familiar carbine fit.
As a current-production, high-grade variant, this rifle aligns with the box model code "M73 CMP CRB HG CH, S, 357" and Winchester item number 534280137, with UPC 048702019708. It is a recent release reproduction that delivers modern build quality while preserving hallmark 1873 features.
