The PTR-91 GIR is a U.S.-made, HK G3/HK91-pattern rifle built around the proven roller-delayed blowback system. This example features an 18-inch 4140 chrome-alloy steel barrel with a threaded muzzle and birdcage flash hider, a welded steel Picatinny rail on the receiver top, and OD green polymer furniture. It accepts standard G3-pattern magazines and is documented by PTR to run both .308 Winchester and 7.62x51 NATO.

Built in the United States, the PTR-91 GIR follows the HK G3/HK91 pattern with a stamped steel receiver and roller-delayed blowback action. The rifle uses detachable G3-pattern magazines and has a stated capacity of 20+1.
The 18-inch barrel is made from 4140 chrome-alloy steel with a 1:10 twist. It is threaded at the muzzle and fitted with a multi-slot birdcage flash hider. PTR documents chamber compatibility with both .308 Winchester and 7.62x51 NATO.
Iron sights include a hooded front post and a rotary diopter rear drum. A welded steel Picatinny rail on the receiver top provides a solid mounting surface. Controls include an SEF-style selector safety and a left-side charging handle.
Furniture consists of an OD green fixed polymer stock and slim OD green polymer handguard, paired with a black polymer pistol grip. Length of pull is 14.5 inches. Markings include "PTR INDUSTRIES, INC. BRISTOL, CT U.S.A. .308 CAL." on the receiver, with the serial number placed on top of the receiver forward of the rail.
