This Remington Model 798 pairs a Zastava-made Mauser 98–pattern controlled-round-feed action with a 24" blued sporter-contour barrel chambered in .300 Win. Mag. Built in Serbia and imported by USSG in Rockledge, FL, it comes from a short production run circa 2006–2008. It features a laminated hardwood Monte Carlo stock with a cheekpiece and checkering, and it includes installed two-piece scope bases.
Condition
Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: The action cycles smoothly. Minor scratches and blemishes are present, with noticeable blemishing around the front sling swivel. There is pitting on the magazine baseplate.

The heart of this rifle is a Zastava-made Mauser 98–pattern, long-action receiver with controlled-round feed and a full-length external claw extractor. This classic CRF design provides positive cartridge control from magazine to chamber.
The 24" blued sporter-contour barrel and blued steel receiver present a clean, traditional hunting profile. The rifle is configured without sights, and two-piece scope bases are already installed.
The laminated hardwood Monte Carlo stock offers a raised cheekpiece and checkering on the grip and forend. A rubber recoil pad and sling swivel studs are factory-style features. Length of pull measures 13.5".
Feeding is via a fixed internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, providing a 3+1 capacity in this magnum chambering. A two-position, side-mounted sliding safety is fitted. Markings include USSG – Rockledge, FL and Zastava – Serbia, with production attributed to the 2006–2008 era.
