The 92FS Compact uses Beretta’s short-recoil system with a falling locking block and the iconic open-top slide. The steel barrel is chrome-lined and Bruniton coated, while the slide wears a black Bruniton finish. A light alloy frame keeps weight to approximately 32 oz, delivering the familiar 92 handling in a compact package.
Controls and safety systems include an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker, an automatic firing pin block, and the FS hammer-pin slide over-travel stop. The exposed spurred hammer, vertically grooved frontstrap and backstrap, forward-serrated trigger guard, and lanyard loop provide practical handling details. Black textured grip panels with Beretta medallions round out the factory configuration.
Sights are fixed, with an integral front blade and a dovetailed rear notch set in the open-top slide. The sight radius measures 5.8 inches. The barrel length is 4.3 inches, and overall length is 7.8 inches, giving the pistol compact dimensions with a full, confident sight picture.
