The P239 is built around a stainless-steel slide with a black Nitron finish and a hard-coat anodized aluminum-alloy frame, delivering a durable, carryable package with a slim, single-column profile. The frame is marked Exeter, NH USA, and the model was produced approximately from 1996 to 2018.
Its DA/SA, hammer-fired system uses a short-recoil, locked-breech design. Controls are the classic SIG P-series layout, including a left-side decocking lever, an external spurred hammer, and a curved, smooth-face trigger.
Sight configuration is straightforward and practical: fixed 3-dot iron sights with dovetailed front and rear units. The slide features rear-only serrations and has no optics cut.
