Manufactured by Carl Walther in Ulm/DO for Smith & Wesson, this pistol carries German C.I.P. proofs including "DE," eagle over "N," and the Ulm antler, plus a "BC" date code (2012). The slide is marked "CARL WALTHER ULM/DO" and "MADE IN GERMANY," confirming its German production and proofing.
The M&P22 uses a full-size polymer frame with M&P texturing and S&W medallion grips, paired with an aluminum-alloy slide in black. Sights are a white-dot front with an adjustable rear (windage and elevation) for precise zeroing. An accessory rail is integrated on the dust cover.
The factory 4.1 in carbon-steel barrel is threaded M8x0.75 mm under a barrel nut. An adapter is required for U.S. suppressor thread standards. This setup provides flexibility while retaining a clean factory appearance when the nut is installed.
