Built on the AR-15 platform, this Sporter Competition HBAR features a 20-inch heavy-profile barrel marked "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/9 HBAR" and an A2 birdcage flash suppressor on a threaded muzzle. The 1:9 twist complements the HBAR profile for a classic competition-oriented setup.
The rifle retains the A2 sighting system, with an A-frame front sight and square post paired to a fixed carry handle rear sight equipped with the 8/3 elevation drum. A clamp-on carry-handle scope base is installed for optional optic use without altering the rifle’s original configuration.
Forged aluminum receivers wear a gray anodized finish and include A2 features such as the brass deflector, forward assist, and dust cover. The rifle uses a large-diameter two-screw front pivot pin, a hallmark of Colt’s blue-label era Sporters.
