The Tang Safety M77 represents an early configuration of Ruger’s flagship bolt-action, and this example dates to 1989. It is chambered in 7mm Rem. Mag. and uses Ruger’s angled front action screw bedding system. The action combines an external claw extractor with a plunger-type ejector for positive extraction and ejection.
The rifle sports a 24 inch steel barrel with open sights: a banded/ramped front blade and an adjustable rear barrel sight on an island base. Metal surfaces wear a gloss blued steel finish that complements the classic profile.
Feeding is via an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, providing a 4+1 capacity. The receiver incorporates integral Ruger scope bases, and the included clamp-style Ruger rings attach directly to these bases for a secure, low-profile optics setup if desired.
The walnut stock features cut point-pattern checkering for grip, sling-swivel studs at the forend and butt, and a red Ruger recoil pad with eagle medallion and black spacer. Length of pull measures 13.75 inches, and the tang-mounted safety is easy to access without shifting grip.
