Built on the stainless K-frame, the 617-6 pairs a satin stainless frame, cylinder, and barrel with a 4 inch heavy profile tube, full underlug, and a serrated rib. The configuration delivers a steady sight picture and balanced handling in a durable .22 LR package.
Its 10-shot stainless cylinder adds capacity while retaining traditional DA/SA operation. A smooth-faced trigger and spurred external hammer support both double-action and single-action shooting.
Sights are fully adjustable iron sights: a pinned black blade on a ramped front and a micrometer-adjustable rear. The knurled ejector-rod tip and S&W logo on the right sideplate are classic factory details.
This 617-6 includes the internal key lock positioned above the cylinder latch and is clearly marked with the 617-6 engineering change on the yoke. The case end label reflects SKU 160584 for the 4 inch, .22 LR variant.
Factory rubber finger-groove grips are fitted, providing a secure hold. The revolver is made in the United States and corresponds to S&W part number 160584.
