Mossberg 500AG 12 Gauge Pump-Action Shotgun, 28 Inch Vent Rib Barrel, Fixed Modified Choke, 3 Inch Chamber, Blued, Wood Stock
This Mossberg 500AG is a U.S.-made 12 gauge pump-action shotgun with classic features and clearly marked factory rollmarks from North Haven, Conn. It pairs a 28 inch ventilated rib barrel and fixed Modified choke with a chamber cut for both 2 3/4 and 3 in. shells. The blued alloy receiver, wood stock and slide-handle forend with pressed checkering, and brass bead front sight deliver a traditional field configuration that is easy to run and maintain.
The right-side ejection port and blued barrel and magazine tube reflect the period-correct construction of the 500AG series. The letter-suffix 500AG designation aligns with Mossberg’s multi-letter Model 500 variants used during the 1970s–1980s, providing useful model context for buyers and collectors.
The 28 inch barrel features a ventilated rib and a fixed Modified choke for dependable shot patterns. The chamber accommodates both 2 3/4 and 3 in. shells, ensuring 3 inch chamber versatility with common 12 gauge loads. A brass bead front sight offers a straightforward and durable aiming reference.
Wood furniture includes a stock with a ventilated recoil pad and pressed checkering, plus a wood slide-handle forend. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches, and capacity is 2+1.
