West German production by J.P. Sauer & Sohn places this rifle among the early Mark V examples. The receiver is roll-marked "MARK V PATENTS PENDING" in Weatherby script, aligning with its 1962 manufacture and adding clear period identification.
The action is the signature Mark V nine-lug design with an approximate 54-degree bolt lift. It is the long/magnum action with an internal box magazine and a hinged floorplate, offering a 3+1 capacity tailored to magnum cartridges.
The 24-inch steel barrel is unfluted with a recessed crown, and the barrel is marked "Weatherby .300 MAGNUM." Chambering is .300 Weatherby Magnum. The rifle is configured without iron sights.
Metalwork is finished in high-polish blue, matched to the Deluxe-grade gloss-finished walnut stock. The stock features a Monte Carlo profile with a right-hand cheekpiece, skip-line checkering, a rosewood forend tip, and a rosewood grip cap with a white diamond inlay. White/black line spacers, a ventilated rubber recoil pad, and sling swivel studs round out the Deluxe details.
For optics, a Leupold one-piece Picatinny scope rail/base is installed on the receiver, providing a solid mounting platform in keeping with the rifle’s clean, sightless barrel profile. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
