The NG 1911 OR pairs a stainless steel frame and tri-top slide with a 5-inch, ramped, bushing-fit stainless barrel and a 1:16 twist. The slide features front and rear cocking serrations, an external extractor, and a lowered/flared ejection port. A conventional GI-length guide rod maintains a classic 1911 maintenance profile.
The optics-ready slide uses an RMR-footprint cut and a cover plate secured by two Torx screws. Sighted with a red fiber-optic front in a dovetail and a low-profile black fixed rear integrated into the cover plate, it provides a clear, durable sighting setup from the start.
Controls and ergonomics are well-sorted: an ambidextrous thumb safety and a grip safety, a skeletonized aluminum trigger with overtravel adjustment, and a skeletonized commander-style hammer. The front strap and mainspring housing are checkered at 32 LPI, and the bobtailed/rounded grip heel aids carry comfort. Walnut grips with G10 textured inlays deliver a firm hold.
This full-size 1911 in 9mm offers a 9+1 capacity and ships with two 9-round magazines. It uses a Series 70 fire-control system and is made in Troy, Alabama, USA, reflecting Kimber’s current production. The stainless matte/brushed finish on both slide and frame provides a cohesive, durable appearance.
