The Commander-style configuration pairs a 4.25 in barrel with a full-size grip frame for a classic carry-length slide and standard 1911 ergonomics. Ruger equips this model with a bushing/plug recoil system (GI-style), keeping the setup traditional and straightforward.
This SR1911 uses a Series-70-style firing system with a titanium firing pin and no firing-pin block. Control features include a checkered magazine release, a skeletonized three-hole trigger with an overtravel screw, and a skeletonized rowel hammer.
The slide and frame are stainless steel with a matte finish and rear-only cocking serrations. The beavertail grip safety has a memory pad, and the left-side thumb safety provides positive engagement. Ruger machines the plunger tube integrally for the slide stop and thumb safety.
