    What’s Included

    • Koishikawa Arsenal (Tokyo) Type 38 Long Rifle chambered in 6.5x50mm Japanese

Built at Koishikawa Arsenal in Tokyo, this Type 38 Long Rifle represents the classic Japanese service configuration with a long 31.4 in barrel and 6.5x50mm Japanese chambering. Its action is the Type 38 pattern with a cock-on-closing bolt and dual front locking lugs, feeding from an internal 5-round magazine via stripper clips.

The receiver ring bears the Imperial chrysanthemum crest and Type 38 kanji markings, features that are important for identifying its military lineage. Country of origin is Japan, and the rifle is attributed to Koishikawa (Tokyo) production.

Sighting is by iron sights: an unhooded, block-mounted front blade paired with a tangent/ladder rear sight with a sliding elevation bar. The hardwood stock is the full-length style with finger grooves and a steel buttplate, and the length of pull measures 13.0 in.

Construction is all steel for the barrel and receiver with a blued finish. Safety features include a rotary safety, bolt lock, and decock function. As noted, the rifle is presently missing several front-end components: the upper handguard, barrel bands, nose cap/bayonet lug, and cleaning rod.
