The SCAR 15P operates via a short-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt and an adjustable gas regulator, designed for reliable cycling in a compact 7.5-inch-barrel format. The barrel is cold hammer-forged and chrome-lined, and it terminates in a three-prong flash hider.
The monolithic aluminum upper and polymer lower are finished in Flat Dark Earth. A continuous, numbered MIL-STD-1913 top rail runs the length of the receiver, complemented by short accessory rails at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. A rear vertical Picatinny interface is integral to the platform.
This pistol is configured with an aftermarket folding rear assembly installed on the rear Picatinny interface, using a Strike Industries Dual Folding Adapter and FSA Stock End. The charging handle is a non-reciprocating side design.
The receiver bears FN HERSTAL BELGIUM 2023 and FN COLUMBIA SC markings and a multi-caliber receiver marking. Overall length is approximately 19.75 inches, and unloaded weight is about 5.65 pounds. It uses detachable STANAG-pattern magazines; capacity is 10+1, and one 10-round magazine is included.
