This full-size P227 pairs a hammer-fired DA/SA action with the Classic P-Series control layout, including a frame-mounted decocking lever and an exposed hammer. It was introduced in 2013 and later discontinued, marking a notable chapter as the first Classic P-Series to adopt a double-stack .45 ACP magazine format.
The slide is stainless steel with a black Nitron finish and uses a square-shouldered profile with rear cocking serrations only. The hard-anodized alloy frame keeps weight to 32.0 oz while maintaining durability. Manufacturer markings read "SIG SAUER Inc., Exeter, NH, USA," and the pistol is made in the USA.
Sighting is straightforward and robust, with dovetailed 3-dot contrast sights: a white-dot front and a 2-dot rear. A 4.4 in barrel and a 6.3 in sight radius support a clean sight picture and practical accuracy.
Ergonomics are enhanced by the one-piece textured polymer E2-style grip. Dimensions are well-balanced for a full-size .45 ACP: overall length 7.70 in, height 5.50 in, width 1.50 in. Capacity is 10+1 with the included double-stack magazines.
