Product Description

    Stevens No. 330 16 Gauge Side-by-Side, 28 in, 2 3/4 in Chamber, Mod/Full Chokes, Double Triggers

This Stevens No. 330 is a classic 16-gauge side-by-side built on a hammerless boxlock action and marked from the J. Stevens Arms Company era in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts. It features 28-inch high-pressure compressed steel barrels with the barrel and lug forged in one piece, a solid finely matted rib with brass front bead, and the practical combination of a 2 3/4 in chamber with Modified (right) and Full (left) chokes. Receiver and rib inscriptions reference the April 20, 1915 G.S.

Lewis patent and the high-pressure steel construction.

    Condition

    Overall Condition: Poor condition.

Bore Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.

Specific Condition Notes: The stock shows significant alterations, including hand-cut finger grooves and a refinish. It is cracked at the base, loose, and not in fireable condition; professional gunsmithing will be needed to make it functional. Surfaces show notable handling and use marks. The firing mechanism engages the firing pins. The top lever rests past the 6 o'clock position.

The bores show light pitting in addition to the noted light corrosion. Refer to photos for close-up views.

    What’s Included

    • Stevens No. 330 16 Gauge side-by-side shotgun

The No. 330 is a hammerless boxlock with top-lever opening, double triggers, manual sliding tang safety, and extractors. It retains the traditional layout preferred by many upland and field shooters, with a splinter forend featuring light checkering and a semi-pistol grip stock capped by a hard buttplate. Capacity is 2.

Its 28-inch barrels are inscribed "High Pressure Compressed Steel — Barrel And Lug Forged In One Piece," reflecting the robust construction associated with this series. The solid, finely matted top rib and brass front bead provide a clean, glare-reducing sighting plane.

Choke constrictions are set up for versatile performance: Modified in the right barrel and Full in the left. The chambers are 2 3/4 in, aligning with common 16-gauge loads. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches.

Receiver markings include "J. Stevens Arms Company, Chicopee Falls, Mass. U.S.A. — Patented April 20 1915 —" on the right side and "STEVENS" on the left, tying this example to the G.S. Lewis 1915 patent lineage and the company’s Chicopee Falls production period.
