The Model 760 uses a pump-action system paired with a rotating multi-lug bolt that locks into a barrel extension. This design delivers a solid lock-up and reliable cycling with .30-06 ammunition. It feeds from a detachable box magazine and has a 4+1 capacity.
Construction is all-steel for the barrel and receiver with a polished blue finish. The walnut stock has a gloss finish and includes a pistol-grip, impressed checkering, and white-line spacers, along with sling studs installed. Length of pull is 13.25 inches.
Sighting equipment includes a ramped front blade and a barrel-mounted adjustable rear sight. The receiver is drilled and tapped, and this rifle comes with two-piece scope bases and 1-inch rings already installed, offering a straightforward path to mounting a 1-inch optic of your choice.
Produced from 1952 to 1981 with approximately 1.03 million made, the Model 760 saw limited U.S. law-enforcement use, including by the FBI in the 1960s. This example was made in the United States and bears the Remington oval REP proof and inspector stamps.
