The DB15 uses a semi-automatic, direct-impingement system on the AR-15 platform. Both upper and lower receivers are forged 7075-T6 aluminum with a hard-anodized finish. The receiver is marked "DIAMONDBACK FIREARMS, LLC COCOA, FL, USA," and the rifle is made in the USA.
The 16 in barrel is threaded and capped with a birdcage-style flash hider. A low-profile gas block sits under the approximately 15 in free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard, providing ample mounting space while keeping the barrel free-floated.
The A3/flat-top upper includes a T-marked Picatinny rail, forward assist, shell deflector, and a dust cover with the ejection-port cover marked "5.56 NATO." A SIG SAUER ROMEO-MSR red-dot sight is installed on a riser mount for a clear, fast sight picture.
Ergonomics and controls include a six-position, telescoping polymer stock with a 10.5 in–13.5 in adjustable length of pull, a Magpul MOE pistol grip, a manual safety, and a single-stage curved trigger. Capacity is 30+1, and this rifle comes with three 30-round Magpul PMAGs.
