The XM15-E2S uses a 16-inch M4-profile barrel with a carbine-length gas system and an A2 flash suppressor. The barrel is threaded and marked "B MP 5.56 NATO 1/9," indicating Bushmaster Magnetic Particle inspection and a 1:9 twist for 5.56 NATO.
The upper is the C7 type with a fixed A1-style carry handle, case deflector, forward assist, and ejection port cover. Sighting is via an A2 front sight post and an A1-pattern rear aperture integrated into the carry handle.
Furniture is carbine-correct: ribbed, two-piece polymer handguards, a 6-position M4-type telescoping stock with sling loop, and an A2-style checkered polymer pistol grip. The Bushmaster logo is molded into the stock, and the lower magwell bears the Bushmaster snake logo.
