The Model 60 uses a semi-automatic, blowback action with right-side charging and right-side ejection. Controls include a cross-bolt safety with a red fire indicator. The trigger is gold-tone and housed in a black polymer trigger guard.
The 22 in steel barrel features Marlin's Micro-Groove rifling. Feeding is via an under-barrel tubular magazine with a knurled end cap, offering a 14-round maximum capacity. The magazine tube terminates short of the muzzle.
Sighting is handled by iron sights: a ramped front blade and an adjustable rear leaf/elevator. The alloy receiver has a black finish and integral 3/8-inch rimfire dovetail grooves. A single takedown screw in the forearm simplifies routine disassembly.
The hardwood stock wears a walnut finish and features a straight comb, pistol grip, pressed checkering, and a black polymer buttplate. Length of pull is 13.5 in. North Haven, Connecticut rollmarks indicate original Marlin Firearms Co. production, and the serial number is located on the right side of the receiver. Made in the United States.
