The MAC 9 DS uses a 4.25-inch Commander-length, bushingless bull barrel for added muzzle weight and consistent lockup. The barrel hood is marked "CAL 9mm LUGER," and the pistol is configured around a double-stack 1911 platform with a 17+1 capacity.
The steel frame incorporates a four-slot accessory rail and a removable flared funnel magwell to streamline reloads. Frontstrap and mainspring housing are vertically serrated, and the wraparound polymer grip module carries MAC logo medallions with a textured pattern for secure purchase.
Controls include ambidextrous thumb safeties and a beavertail grip safety with a memory pad. A skeletonized three-window trigger and a skeletonized rowel hammer round out the 1911-style fire control features.
The slide has front and rear diagonal cocking serrations, a lowered and flared ejection port, and a two-screw plate on the top of the slide behind the ejection port. Sights are iron: a fiber-optic green front paired with a plain black rear notch for a clear, fast sight picture.
