The factory roll engraving shows an upland dog on the left side and waterfowl on the right, adding distinctive period-correct detail to the steel receiver. Markings include PROOF TESTED, MADE IN U.S.A., the Ithaca, N.Y. address, and ROTO FORGED on the barrel.
The 26 inch steel barrel is plain (non-rib) with a fixed Full choke and a single orange bead front sight. The roto-forged barrel marking denotes the manufacturing method used on these barrels during the period.
True to the Model 37 design, this shotgun uses bottom ejection and a takedown system with a magazine cap and barrel-lug assembly. The receiver falls in the post-855000 range, allowing the use of interchangeable barrels appropriate to that era.
The stock set is wood, featuring a checkered pistol-grip buttstock and a grooved corncob-style forend. An aftermarket Pachmayr "White Line" ventilated recoil pad with a white spacer is installed, providing a 14.0 inch length of pull.
Chambered for 2 3/4 inch shells with a 4+1 capacity, this United States–made Featherlight represents a classic field setup from the 1960s.
