Part of Savage’s early generation of .22 Magnum repeaters, the 65M was produced circa 1969–1979 in the USA. This example is a right-hand bolt-action with a round bolt knob and a right-side ejection/loading port, built on a blued steel receiver.
The rifle is chambered in .22 WMR and feeds from a detachable 5-round steel magazine, with a front-latch magazine release. It shares its magazine pattern with vintage Savage .22 WMR bolt models including the 4M, 34M, and 65M.
The 22 in sporter barrel is blued steel and this example has no iron sights. The receiver carries integral 3/8 in tip-off dovetail grooves, and there is a small drilled/tapped hole near the muzzle at the 12 o’clock position.
The wood stock offers classic rimfire handling with a Monte Carlo comb, pressed checkering, a white-line spacer, and a black buttplate. Length of pull measures 14.0 in.
A Bausch & Lomb 4-8x riflescope is installed using 3/8 in tip-off dovetail rings, complementing the factory grooved receiver on this model.
