The XM15-E2S pairs a 20-inch barrel with a rifle-length gas system for the traditional A2 rifle profile. Its upper features a fixed carry handle with an adjustable A2 rear sight, along with a brass deflector and forward assist. The front sight is the standard A2 post in an A-frame base.
This example reflects its post-ban configuration: an unthreaded muzzle with a smooth crown and no bayonet lug, combined with the A2 front sight base. The receiver is marked "CAL. .223–5.56MM," confirming compatibility with both .223 Remington and 5.56×45mm NATO ammunition.
Furniture is true to the period, including a black polymer fixed stock with trapdoor storage and a checkered buttplate, an A2 pistol grip, and A2 rifle-length round ribbed polymer handguards. Length of pull is 13.5 inches.
Built on aluminum alloy receivers with a matte black anodized finish, this rifle uses a semi-automatic, direct impingement action with a standard magazine release and a manual safety selector. Capacity is 10+1. The Windham, Maine B.F.I. rollmark and USA manufacture round out the package.
