The Covert submodel equips the 21A with a factory threaded 2.8 inch barrel, complete with a knurled thread protector and orange sealing ring. The tip-up design enables direct chamber loading and simple unloading without running the slide.
It runs a DA/SA, blowback action with an external spurred hammer. Safety features include a manual thumb safety with a red-dot indicator and an inertia firing pin. The open-top slide with rear serrations aids smooth cycling and straightforward manipulation.
Sights are fixed, with the front blade integral to the barrel and the rear notch integral to the slide. This configuration keeps the sight picture simple and durable.
The alloy frame and steel barrel wear a matte black finish, paired with checkered wood grips set with Beretta medallions. Markings include "BERETTA USA CORP. GALLATIN, TN" and "MADE IN USA."
