The Model 1006 is a robust, full-size 10mm built with a stainless-steel slide and frame in a matte finish. Its 5-inch stainless barrel and approximately 42 oz unloaded factory weight provide a stable shooting platform in the classic 1000-series format.
It uses a DA/SA, short-recoil operated system with an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker, plus a firing pin block and magazine disconnect. The exposed spurred hammer and smooth curved trigger offer familiar third-generation S&W ergonomics and controls.
Sighting is handled by a fully adjustable rear notch and a ramped front blade with a white dot, matching the factory adjustable-sight configuration. The slide features rear cocking serrations only and an external extractor.
The one-piece wraparound synthetic grips with S&W medallion complete the package. Included are three 9-round steel magazines and a Kramer leather holster, adding practical value to this USA-made 10mm pistol from the early to mid 1990s.
