Colt Single Action Army Third Generation .45 Colt, 7.5 Inch, Blue/Color Case-Hardened (2014)
This Third Generation Colt Single Action Army in .45 Colt pairs the classic 7.5 inch cavalry-length barrel with Colt's factory Case Color Blue finish: high-polish blued barrel, cylinder, and grip frame with bone-charcoal color case-hardened frame and hammer. Produced in 2014, it carries late Third-Generation S-prefix/A-suffix serialization format, correct rollmarks, and the Colt Verified Proof. The American Eagle grips and fixed-sight layout complete a well-detailed, collectible configuration.

Built on a carbon steel frame with a color case-hardened finish, this SAA features a matching color case-hardened hammer and high-polish blued barrel, cylinder, and grip frame. The fluted six-shot cylinder is blued and stamped '45' on the rear, matching the .45 Colt chambering. The barrel is 7.5 inches in the traditional cavalry length.
Rollmarks and proofs are correct: left-barrel 'COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45' rollmark; top-barrel address 'COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO.
HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.'; and a three-line patent legend with Rampant Colt on the left frame. A 'VP' Verified Proof in triangle is present on the left front of the trigger guard. The loading gate shows assembly number '218'. Serialization follows the late Third-Generation S-prefix/A-suffix format.
Sights are the classic fixed pattern with a tall blade front and a fixed rear notch in the topstrap. The .45 Colt barrel uses a 1:16 RH twist. Action is single-action, and capacity is six rounds.
Distinctive black checkered composite American Eagle grips carry Rampant Colt medallions and the eagle-and-shield motif with 'E PLURIBUS UNUM' ribbon, consistent with the factory configuration. This example is cataloged as P1870 and was made in the United States.
