SKB-made in Japan for Weatherby, this Athena Version I Field 12 gauge stands out with 30" blued barrels, a 3" chamber, and fixed Full/Modified chokes. Its coin-finished receiver features factory scroll and rosette engraving with a gold-inlaid Weatherby 'W' on the top-lever base. A D-prefix serial indicates Japanese Version I production from circa 1982–1990.
Condition
Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Overall Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Specific Condition Notes: There are markings from previous handling and signs of moderate use. The finish shows staining. The top lever rests near the 6 o'clock position. Barrel fit is moderately tight. The ejectors are timed.
The firing pins are in good condition.

Built by SKB in Japan for Weatherby, the Athena Version I Field is a boxlock over/under with faux sideplates, produced during the 1980s. Markings include "South Gate, Calif. Made in Japan," along with additional proof and inspection stamps.
The 30" blued barrels use a ventilated, matted top rib and a single front brass bead for a clean sight picture. Chambers are 3" and the gun is set up with fixed chokes: Full in the top barrel and Modified in the bottom. Capacity is 2 rounds.
The receiver wears a coin finish with factory scroll and rosette engraving. A gold-inlaid Weatherby 'W' adorns the top-lever base. The forend uses a Deeley-style latch.
The gloss-finished walnut stock is checkered and fitted with a pistol grip, beavertail forend, and a ventilated recoil pad. Ergonomics include a neutral palm swell and a slight right-hand cast-off, with a 14.0" length of pull.
