The first-generation LCP configuration features a hammer-fired, double-action-only system with an internal, recessed hammer and a smooth curved trigger shoe. This run predates later design changes and retains the original control layout and trigger profile valued by many LCP owners.
The slide wears a black oxide finish with rear-only vertical serrations, an external extractor, and integral fixed sights. The frame is glass-filled nylon in black. Factory markings include the left-side "LCP" model roll mark and "Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc., Prescott, AZ USA" with the standard warning line on the slide.
Its micro footprint centers on a 2.75 in alloy steel barrel, an overall length of 5.16 in, a height of 3.60 in, and a slim 0.82 in width. Unloaded weight is approximately 9.6 oz, keeping carry weight and bulk to a minimum while maintaining shootability for a pocket-size .380.
Capacity is 6 rounds, and this example ships with a magazine fitted with a finger-extension baseplate. The installed wraparound rubber sleeve adds pebble texture, a palm swell/beavertail, and extended surface area around the grip for a more secure hold. Made in the USA.
