The P229 platform pairs a compact size with a strong feature set for the .40 S&W chambering. This example uses a short-recoil, locked-breech system and a double-action/single-action trigger with a decocker for traditional P-series operation. The aluminum alloy frame wears a hard-coat anodized finish, while the slide has a black Nitron finish with rear serrations.
Sight picture comes from factory SIGLITE tritium 3-dot night sights. Both front and rear sights are dovetailed, and the rear is marked MH3. This setup provides a familiar and durable arrangement appropriate for the P229’s compact layout.
The frame features a non-railed legacy dustcover and front strap vertical serrations. Controls include the decocker, slide catch, and takedown lever in the standard P-series configuration. A spurred hammer and a one-piece textured wrap-around polymer grip with the SIG SAUER logo complete the handling package.
Capacity is 12+1 with .40 S&W. Two 12-round steel magazines are included; they are marked MADE IN ITALY and have witness holes to 12. The pistol is marked SIG SAUER INC., EXETER–NH–USA and carries manufacturer part number E29-40-BSS. It comes with the factory SIG case and owner’s manual.
